Word is in that the Hickmen will travel the 5 and PCH corridors north sometime early in the new year, with new recordings in hand. So we ask two favors of you, our dear hick friends. well. Though not gigging of late, they have been finishing tracking for the new
CD, in between bagging 14,000 foot Sierra peaks. Look for completion of tracking
and peak bagging (not a completion of as much as a continuation of), as well as

St. Patrick's day show at the Highland O'Grounds The Hickmen's monthly Highland Grounds gig will be on St. Patrick's day this year, the 17th of March. Rich has promised to have plenty of Guiness on hand, though alas lads and lassies, no corned beef. The vegan taco plate will have to do. For one night, the club is called Highland O'Grounds.

County Cabin Members of The Hickmen set up shop and recorded the rest of Alan Waddington’s drum tracks for their upcoming CD in a cabin in the San Berdnardino National Forest.

Working with drummer/producer Alan Waddington, the band is digitalizing such future hits as “Costco Socks,” True Blue Red (American),” and “I Got a Gun.” December 03, 2004 After a rousing evening on November 18 spent with Johnny Hickman, both solo and backed up by The Hickmen, The Hickmen are planning two December gigs, one back at Highland Grounds and one at one of their old Inland Empire haunts, the Black Watch pub.

The Gramfest will once more be hosted by the Hi Desert Playhouse in Joshua Tree, California. San Bernardino County Blues will definitely be in the set.
The Hickmen Complete California Dreamin’ August 09, 2004 Faced with overwhelming challenges that included legal actions, screaming preschoolers, poor musicianship, and the twin demons of sloth and melancholy, The Hickmen have none-the-less completed their second CD, titled California Dreamin’. Hickmen have wrapped up recording their new CD June 28, 2004 The Hickmen have wrapped up recording and mixing of their new CD, tentatively titled “California Dreaming.” It features a rare backing vocal track from Alan Waddington. A date has been set for mastering and then the only excuse the guys can come up with to delay things any longer will be the artwork. Look for a release date around the middle of August. The Hickmen Tire of Perfection Bored these many recording sessions with nailing every guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, and vocal performance on the first take, The Hickmen have scheduled some live gigs to see whether or not they are capable of making a mistake.
