Fear not, Hickmen fans, the band is alive and well. Though not gigging of late, they have been finishing tracking for the new CD, in between bagging 14,000 foot Sierra peaks. Look for completion of tracking and peak bagging (not a completion of as much as a continuation of), as well as a resumption of gigging, this fall.

Sept 22 Post Mortem

Thanks to all of you who packed the joint, kept the beer off the floor and tipped the waitresses and bartenders. The hospitality was delivered by Robin (you know how she does it), The Press Crew, and a very enthusiastic crowd. We're indebted to Carlos Guitarlos for sharing his stories in song. A big shout out also goes out to our musical guests: famed guitarist Jeff Ross and Inland Empire legend Chris Darrow on mandolin. An hour and forty five minutes of high-octane Hickmen rock!

Now... back to the studio (anybody have a studio for us?) we go.

HICKMEN GIGGING

March 31 UPDATE

Hickmen is alive and well, holed up in the caves and underground passages that span from Hollywood to Silverlake.  Reports from Homeland Security sources indicate a range of sonic activities.  CIA analysts are suggesting they are fromthe uncorking of fine champagnes, the voice of Oscar, kick and snare, sirens and screams (4 octaves) a guitar tone that is driving toxic percolates out of the local aquifers...Hickmen, Good for your community

Hickmen and Farmer Tan at the Press - Jan 21

Question is...where is finn?

Happy Holidays.  Download 'Where I Stand' here.

December 2005, The Hickmen fire The. And like you don't find Bill Wyman's good name anywhere in the vicinity of today's Rolling Stones (penalty for quitting and always in the company of the best looking women), The will only be found in the deepest archives.  Hickmen

November 2005.  Hickmen write, arrange and record 'Where I Stand' for the academic decathlon dramatic documentary "Hometown Heroes."  The tune was mixed at Capitol Studios by legendary mix-man Charlie Paakkari. After 30 years behind the consol and having mixed most of the Beatles, Frank, Whitney,  Fogerty, Manilow, Belefonte, Flek, Wynonna, Sting and Hammer...Charlie thanked the Hickmen for bringing the liquor. Hickmen thank Charlie too.  Here's to you bro!

August 2005. Oui Hickmen hit the highway, CA 5 that is and head north Dates in Portland, San Francisco and San Louis Obispo.

Three gigs are lined up for The Hickmen's June
May 25, 2005

First will be the Highland Grounds gig which this month will be the second Thursday of the month, June 9th. They have no idea who will be on the bill with them. The night was moved to allow the The Hickmen to play their second show of the month, which will be at Pioneer Town in the high desert, right in the heart of San Bernardino County on Thursday, June 16. This gig will be a fine one, with Johnny's friends Skeeter Truck and LP. Next will be the next night, Friday the 17th, at The Mint, as part of the Sin City All Stars Review. This is a really happening night and The Hickmen are looking forward to it.

St. Patrick's day show at the Highland O'Grounds
March 5, 2005

The Hickmen's monthly Highland Grounds gig will be on St. Patrick's day this year, the 17th of March. Rich has promised to have plenty of Guiness on hand, though alas lads and lassies, no corned beef. The vegan taco plate will have to do. For one night, the club is called Highland O'Grounds.

January 20, 2004

Ignoring the impassioned pleas of booking agents nation-wide, The Hickmen are playing no gigs January or February as they are hard at work on their second CD. Working with drummer/producer Alan Waddington, the band is digitalizing such future hits as “Costco Socks,” True Blue Red (American),” and “I Got a Gun.”

The Hickmen Complete California Dreamin’
August 09, 2004

Faced with overwhelming challenges that included legal actions, screaming preschoolers, poor musicianship, and the twin demons of sloth and melancholy, The Hickmen have none-the-less completed their second CD, titled California Dreamin’.
Hickmen have wrapped up recording their new CD
June 28, 2004

The Hickmen have wrapped up recording and mixing of their new CD, tentatively titled “California Dreaming.” It features a rare backing vocal track from Alan Waddington. A date has been set for mastering and then the only excuse the guys can come up with to delay things any longer will be the artwork. Look for a release date around the middle of August.

The Hickmen Tire of Perfection
April 22, 2004

Bored these many recording sessions with nailing every guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, and vocal performance on the first take, The Hickmen have scheduled some live gigs to see whether or not they are capable of making a mistake. At this writing, they are as follows:
