Hickmen Return to the HIGH Desert - II WATER CANYON, 55844 29 Palms Hwy.
Yucca Valley (760-365-7771)Saturday, October 29 A follow-up to the now
legendary PORCHSTOCK that took place following musical festivities at
the CampOut, the Hickmen will emerge from the desert (the haven't been
seen since PORCHSTOCK and the assumption is that they are aimlessly
traversing the desert, escaping the chaos or perhaps they are just
wandering in the desert called their minds) to grab a cup of spiked
coffee at WATER CANYON. |
Hickmen Return to the HIGH Desert
Friends, this is going to be a great weekend.
We are playing Saturday night, last I heard.
Note the mega fantastic line-up for fri/sat. Make a weekend
of it. Pitch a tent, or a van or the SUV (don't forget to load up at Costco
on the way out; gas, munchies, travel insurance, casket) at Pappi and Harriet's site.
Get up early and visit your Joshua Tree National Monument.

organized details: http://www.crackersoul.com/campout/

Hickmen Roll Through the West Coast
More on this later...but
the low down is that mid-August mileage was up, as the band ventured to
Portland, San Francisco and San Luis Obsipo (with stop overs in Redding and
Winters). We can't wait to get back.
Hickmen Shut Down Highland Grounds
July 7, 2005
The Hickmen have shut down Highland Grounds. Rich Brenner, asserting that there is
no way to make a profit with the tightfisted crowd The Hickmen draw, has booted live
music from his venue. Sad but true. The last Thursday for The Hickmen will be July
21.
So hey, cry you bastards and get on down and see them. The 21st will have
Carlos Guitarlos and his band, just one week after their new CD release. Their may
be surprise artist (or two) as well. If nothing else, come on down to give Lou-oui
and Rick a proper send-off to the unemployment line.
Also, you Hickmen fans up the west coast, look for August dates to be announced
soon. Confirmed venues so far include San Luis Obispo, San Fransisco, Chico, and
Portland. Check back here for more info.
Finn Undergoes Sex Change, Waddington Loses Mind April 9, 2005
According to reports, Mike Finn is "100% pre-op" female, while Alan Waddington has lost what was left of his mental capacities to the marching snare. Mike Jones, grumbling about what he claims to be "typical lead singer bullshit" and Tim Allyn are vowing no more Hickmen gigs until both situations are "normalized," what ever that may be...
Whatever that may be, the line up at Highland Grounds this month is a benefit for the Silverlake Independent Jewish Community Center preschool. Raffles, requests for donations, and other money-leeching activities will be in the house. The door remains $5. The line up is all SIJCC parents: Ben Decter and Jackie Sloan, Autumn De Wilde, the Holliston String Quartet, Barry Jacobson and Peter Freiberger, and, sex change or not, The Hickmen. Show starts at a parent-friendly 7:30, and ends early too, though not early enough for some of you...
