The Hickmen Tire of Perfection
April 22, 2004

Bored these many recording sessions with nailing every guitar, bass, piano, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, and vocal performance on the first take, The Hickmen have scheduled some live gigs to see whether or not they are capable of making a mistake. At this writing, they are as follows:

First is some leftist, hippy, tree-hugging environmental conference in Idlywild, CA, at or around 2:30 PM on Saturday, May 15. The time on this gig has changed more times than the administration's rationale for invading Iraq, but 2:30 seems to be the latest word. Apparently no one, either in the band or in the community of Idlywild, really knows much about this gig, except that Jones has promised to play only his electric guitar, hung low, and start drinking “way earlier than usual.”

After that will be Highland Grounds at the corner of Highland and Melrose, at 8:00PM on Tuesday, May 18. This will be with the usual cast of Marshall High faculty members: Paul Inman, Duke Graham, and new victim Jean Schaeffer. These gigs are always fun, if only to see a roomful of teachers attempt to talk about something other than education.
